Whiskey Smoked Ghost Hot Sauce

We love a good cocktail and an excuse to bring our favorite spirits into the hot sauce kitchen with us, too! While we pass on knowledge through celebrating and teaching the art of canning and preserving, Uncle Nearest Whiskey does it through distilling, and we were inspired to develop this smoky, booze-kissed sauce to honor that common ground. Onions get a long, slow roast in a mixture of Uncle Nearest 1856 Whiskey and apple cider vinegar to make this tangy, sweet, fiery hot sauce. Dates and dried ghost peppers also get a nice, long whiskey soak, too, and we then combine those liquored-up ingredients for a silky-smooth, slightly smoky, fiery hot sauce with an unmistakable whisky bite that always keeps us coming back for more. Try it on grilled meats or roasted root vegetables.

Ingredients: Apple cider vinegar, white balsamic vinegar, onions, tomato paste (fresh vine ripened organically grown tomatoes), date syrup (organic dates), Uncle Nearest 1856 whiskey, smoked Bhut Jolokia peppers (ghost chili), kosher salt, black pepper.
